LDS Youth Prepare for Ogden Temple Dedication

2140

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are showing their enthusiasm for the Ogden Temple’s rededication in a variety of ways. Some have previously visited the temple’s open house and others will attend the rededication armed with their white handkerchiefs. But for 16,000 Latter-day Saint youth, simply attending the open house wasn’t enough.

Youth of all ages from 74 different stakes are participating in a Cultural Celebration on Saturday, September 20, which includes singing, dancing, and narration. They have practiced for hundreds of hours. KSL News interviewed some of the youth and the chairman of the Ogden Temple Cultural Celebration, Dennis Ferrin, who remarked:

They’ve been rehearsing about three days a week, they’ve put in a lot of hours — and now with school starting that’s been more difficult. They’ve been great. You can see the enthusiasm in ’em today!

Volunteers have helped with the setting up of lights, organizing the youth into groups, participating in choreography, and providing props.

No one will be excluded from this event as tickets are not needed and the event is being broadcasted to LDS Stake centers in the Ogden area.

The Ogden Temple will be dedicated this Sunday, September 21, at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.
