A group of BYU students and graduates are trying to get their original song, “Live or Survive,” into the final film of the Hunger Game’s series.

KSL reports that BYU students Taylor Miranda and Eliza Smith started work on the song more than a year ago as part of a school assignment. After writing a rough draft version, the two students invited graduates Richard Williams and Nate Young to form a musical group together and try to get the song to play during the closing credits of “Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2.”

The group, who calls themselves TREN,” posted a video of themselves singing “Live or Survive” to Miranda’s YouTube channel. The video was filmed and recorded in Young’s studio in Mapleton, and Williams edited it all together. In the video’s description, TREN writes, “The idea is that there comes a time when we must either fight for a chance at really ‘living life’ or give in to circumstance and simply ‘survive.'”

With more than 110,000 Facebook views and 28,000 views on YouTube, TREN hopes that the video will reach as many people and that those who like the song will like or share the video on social media.

Miranda told KSL, “Our goal right now is just to get as much support as possible. So every share, every view really means a lot to us and it really helps propel us towards our goal.”
