Garrett Batty, the director of The Saratov Approach, is currently working on directing and producing a new Mormon film, FREETOWN. The movie features a young group of Liberian missionaries in Monrovia, Liberia, who find themselves stuck in a civil war. Their only chance of survival is a dangerous cross-country trip by car.

Production began in the summer of this year and is currently finishing up with the final editing. The movie is being completely filmed on location in Liberia, Africa.

FREETOWN is based on a true story that happened in 1990 when Liberia’s First Civil War rocked the country from 1989-1996 and claimed over 200,000 lives.

The film is being released on April 8, 2015 by Three Coin Productions.
