LDS.net’s Mormon Minute recaps LDS news that happened during the week in the Mormon world. This week, we talk about: the Wyoming temple groundbreaking, the new family temple policy, and a new documentary made my LDS young single adults.
0:09 – Star Valley Wyoming Groundbreaking
Mormon Newsroom announced that the next temple to break ground is in Star Valley, Wyoming. This is the first temple for the state, as members currently travel several hours to Idaho to do temple work. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on April 25, 2015 and it should take around two years to finish.
0:27 – Family Baptisms Temple Policy
There was another temple announcement this week about a new policy which makes it easier for families to do proxy baptisms together. Families can now reserve a time to do the work so they don’t have to wait for long periods of time after arriving. The Church’s temple department says they want it to be easier for families to attend the temple together, and also want to encourage youth to attend with their families from time to time.
0:49 – Mormon Global Network Documentary
And five young single adults are getting ready to travel to Europe without any accommodations booked other than their flight to get there. They’re doing this in an effort to show the value of the Mormon global network. The group is currently fundraising for the production costs of documenting the experience on kickstarter.com.
