The Mormon Minute recaps news that’s happening in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This week, we talk about: groundbreaking ceremonies for two more temples, Elder Sitati’s address on race, and the Mormon Message titled, “Reflections.”

0:07 – Temple Groundbreakings

The Church broke ground on two temples over the weekend in Tucson, Arizona and Concepcion, Chile. President Uchtdorf presided over and gave the dedicatory prayer at the Tucson Temple groundbreaking. This is the sixth temple for Arizona and second temple for Chile.

0:22 – Seventy Comments on Race

Elder Joseph W. Sitati, a member of the Seventy, made remarks on the international church and race at the ‘Black, White and Mormon’ conference held at the University of Utah. He also referenced the gospel topics page on churchofjesuschrist.org called ‘Race and the Priesthood’ and said,

The doctrine of the Church confirms that people of all backgrounds living or who have ever lived on the earth are children of God and are equal before him. None will be denied their blessings.
