Two sister missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are recovering in a Pocatello hospital after being hit while walking across an intersection using the crosswalk by the Pine Ridge Mall in Chubbuck, Idaho.

On Monday, March 30th around 2:00 PM, Chubbuck police confirmed that a white passenger car struck the sister missionaries as the car was pulling out of the mall parking lot.

Paul Duran, who was an eyewitness to the accident, told KPVI News his account.

“I thought they were dead,” Duran said. “This guy came through the light and nailed them about halfway in between the crosswalk.”

Both missionaries were immediately transported by an ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) in Pocatello for treatment.
