According to Church News, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has just released a major update for the LDS Tools app. The new update features changes that are a result of feedback from members. Ryan Morgenegg, writer for Church News, reports that hundreds of thousands of people use the app each month to quickly access members’ contact information and view membership reports within their ward or stake.

Some of the new features include:

  • A new “meetinghouses” menu item: This allows members to look up any meetinghouse worldwide to find out what wards and branches meet at each location, what time the meetings start, and the contact information for the corresponding bishop or branch president.

Update Personal Information: This new feature allows members and authorized leaders to update personal information (phone numbers, email addresses, etc) and privacy settings.

  • Personalized Contact Lists: Hoping to make group communication easier, LDS Tools now allows members to create contact lists so they can send texts or emails to specified groups of members in their ward or stake.
  • Contacts Displayed on a Map: Contact information for members in a ward or stake can now be viewed on a map.

The mobile app is available in 10 different languages (Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish) and is available for free download for Apple and Android devices.
