On Monday afternoon, police responded to the scene of a fatal crash into the west side wall of the Lubbock Texas temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was later identified as 25-year-old Cameron Tanner Alldredge. Police say the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. For more details on the report, see the video above.

Update: According to Lubbock Online, police say that there was no alcohol involved but that Alldredge may have intentionally run his car into the temple. Eric Hawkins, spokesman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said it’s unknown if Alldredge had any ties with the temple and that the damages done will not affect its operation.
