Russell M. Nelson Set Apart as New President of the Twelve Apostles

Mormon Newsroom reported that Russell M. Nelson was set apart as the new President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles July 15, 2015.

This news comes after the death of the former President, Boyd K. Packer on July 3, 2015.

Mormon Newsroom explained the duties that Nelson will now undertake,

In addition to their primary responsibility to be special witnesses of the name of Christ throughout the world, the apostles have heavy administrative responsibilities as they oversee the orderly progress and development of the global Church.
