The Mormon Channel released a new video in the “His Grace” series which features brothers who’ve overcome war, post-traumatic stress and a heroin addiction.
When Chris and Mitch Taylor returned from Afghanistan and Iraq, they suffered from post-traumatic stress which led them to close off emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Chris became addicted to OxyCotin, which had been prescribed to him for a back injury and later extended his addiction to heroin. Meanwhile, Mitch followed in his brother’s footsteps and began using as well. The brother’s entered a vicious cycle of hiding each other’s addictions. However, when Chris was hospitalized for complications with heroin he resolved to turn his will to Jesus Christ. Chris said in the video shown above,
He knew what I was going through, and He put His arms around me and lifted my soul. And he took those burdens away from me, almost immediately.
After Chris’ drastic change, Mitch once again followed in his brother’s footsteps and turned to Christ.
