Mormon Message: ‘Bearing our Burdens with Hope’

1244

The newly released Mormon Message tells the story of a man who becomes stranded in the mountains because his truck gets stuck in the snow, the Mormon Message recounts this story from Elder David A Bednar’s 2014 General Conference address.

The man was able to drive away safely only after he filled the truck bed with wood. “It was the load of wood that provided the traction necessary for him to get out of the snow, to get back on the road, and to move forward,” Bednar said.

“Sometimes we mistakenly may believe that happiness is the absence of a load,” Bednar explained. “But bearing a load is a necessary and essential part of the plan of happiness.”
