Mission Call Surprise brings Parents to Tears

Michael Trout had convinced his parents that he wasn’t going to serve a mission when he gave them a surprise of a lifetime by reading his mission call during a home teaching lesson.

Mission Geek, a site dedicated to sharing inspiring mission-related content, shared the video and wrote, “Half way through Michael’s freshman year at college something changed, but he wasn’t going to let his parents know that. He spent the next few months lying low as he saved, visited doctors, dentists and filled out bundles of papers to serve a mission for, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. All in an attempt to surprise his parents with a real mission call!”

The YouTube video was originally published in 2014, Trout is currently in the mission field serving in the Brazil Maceió mission.
