Marianne Jennings’ adventurous personality has already taken her to Mt. Everest’s base camp and to explore the world through hiking. The next adventure on her list: a 186-mile dogsled expedition across the arctic tundra of Norway.

Jennings, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, grew up in a small town in the Rocky Mountain West, which she says fed her desire for adventure. The 35-year-old adventurer is going up against 39 other US applicants to be one of two Americans in the arctic race. In order to secure a spot, Jennings must receive the most number of votes online at fjallravenpolar.us

Jennings, who says she craves adventure “like most people crave chocolate,” applied for last year’s race and didn’t make it. However, that didn’t kill her dream. In her audition video, Jennings explains,

I have no idea what the future will bring, and although my adventures might evolve and take on a new shape, my hope is to take advantage of any opportunities that come my way.

The race begins on April 5, 2016 and ends on April 10. Learn more about Jennings in the video posted above, or by visiting sendmjtonorway.com.

Vote for Jennings to represent America in the Fjallraven Polar dogsled expedition at fjallravenpolar.us. Voting ends on December 10, 2015.
