;)

i didn't mean to argue semantics - all i said is that Heavenly Father, Jeus and the Holy Ghost are three completely diffrent persons in their own right, isn't that true? and then each of them is fully God, right? that's like indirectly saying there are 3 Gods - of course then you clarify that God is one, i don't know how that is but i didn't mean to question it all i meant was that your statement on there being "3 Gods" is much more explicit than the LDS one :)...

The Athanasian Creed can explain a little:

That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; Neither confounding the Persons; nor dividing the Essence. For there is one Person of the Father; another of the Son; and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one; the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal. Such as the Father is; such is the Son; and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father uncreated; the Son uncreated; and the Holy Ghost uncreated. The Father unlimited; the Son unlimited; and the Holy Ghost unlimited. The Father eternal; the Son eternal; and the Holy Ghost eternal. And yet they are not three eternals; but one eternal. As also there are not three uncreated; nor three infinites, but one uncreated; and one infinite. So likewise the Father is Almighty; the Son Almighty; and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not three Almighties; but one Almighty. So the Father is God; the Son is God; and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not three Gods; but one God. So likewise the Father is Lord; the Son Lord; and the Holy Ghost Lord. And yet not three Lords; but one Lord.

heh Maureen i promise you i really didn't mean to say that Trinitarians teach there are 3 Gods - all i meant is that comparing the LDS and the Trinitarian definitions -> the Trinitarian one sounds a bit more like if it is describing 3 Gods than the LDS one does :) and yeah, i've read the Athanasian crede before and it really does describe what Trinitarians believe much better than the Nicene crede but it doesn't really explain the oneness of the Trinity - it just dances around it describing it's outward characteristics but doesn't even begin to explain what/how it actually is and i'm fine with that :) we can't have all the answers...i just wanted to see how much is known and can be explained about the Trinity and i guess i've hit the limit :D

thanks for your answers guys
