Does anyone else love this show? It's nice to see a family on TV that loves each other, works, has fun, and holds to some values. If you look on youtube there are videos of the dad (Phil) talking about how everything he has is from God, how the founding fathers had faith in Christ, and the importance of living according to Christian principles. I really like this family.

"Therefore, let us beware of false prophets and false teachers, both men and women, who are self-appointed declarers of the doctrines of the Church and who seek to spread their false gospel and attract followers by sponsoring symposia, books, and journals whose contents challenge fundamental doctrines of the Church. Beware of those who speak and publish in opposition to God’s true prophets and who actively proselyte others with reckless disregard for the eternal well-being of those whom they seduce. Like Nehor and Korihor in the Book of Mormon, they rely on sophistry to deceive and entice others to their views. They “set themselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get gain and praise of the world; but they seek not the welfare of Zion” (2 Ne. 26:29). (Beware of False Prophets and Teachers, supra.)

Dravin and I have just started watching it. It's obvious that things are played up for the cameras. But, I do like their family loyalty, love for each other, charity for others, and just the way Jase talks. It's a good show that gives us the chuckles.
I say that we need to teach our people to find their answers in the scriptures...But the unfortunate thing is that so many of us are not reading the scriptures. We do not know what is in them, and therefore we speculate about things that we ought to have found in the scriptures themselves. I think that therein is one of our biggest dangers of today."

I agree completely with that! Jase is hilarious.

You think a Boise State Bronco is going to post a thread about the Ducks? Not a positive one, anyway. ;)

classylady it's on A&E

You're a twin mom too, so you know that right now my whole life is a moment of insanity.

I haven't seen the show, but I remember the commercial where one guy says he wants to fire all of them, but he can't "'cause you're kin to me." Loved it. How many of us have wanted to smack someone upside the head, but stayed our hand 'cause they were related to us?

Yeah, we love em. Its kinda like watching the Osmonds for us but different. We love SiFy Our favorite episode was when Si and Phil went to the kids school for career day and teach the kids how to clean a duck and all about Vietnam.

So, after this thread, I took a chance and watched a few DD shows. I thought they were pretty funny. I ended up sending my son a couple of quotes (maybe from Si - the older one?) something along the line of it's hard to find a pretty girl who carries a bible and can cook. And one about you have to know if a girl can cook before you get married - how are you going to stay with someone for 50 years of they can't cook? I like his view of time and marriage. I'm not sure the woman should do all the cooking, but since I haven't done much to teach my son, a girl who can cook would be helpful.

I watched some sermons on youtube that Phil (the dad) gave. They're a strong Christian family and true patriots. I enjoyed listening to him.
