But it wasn't until after getting into a conversation with one of my nieces (she's 14) about Robert Downey Jr. (he's 48) that I realised just how nutsy teen girls are. She is beyond crazed over this actor and doesn't give a hoot that he's older than her own father. Again, I just realised how nutsy teen girls are. From my own experience, these crushes are harmless, but is there ever a point when parents should be concerned at all? Luckily for me my daughter is only 2 and not 12 or 13 or 14... ... .. .. These things usually revolve around specific perceived qualities they admire (formative teen years start to build on discriminatory selection of potential mates) which usually starts out with how the guy looks or a guy's amazing talent. Unfortunately, now it looks like he's had a little too much work done.. :/When I was a child, I thought David Cassidy was reasonably handsome, but what I liked best about him was that he was friendly and all the girls seemed to like him. Couldn't figure out what he had that I lacked. I liked girls from before I entered kindergarten, but my feelings were never returned. Seriously, what did David Cassidy have that I didn't? On my bedroom door are crayon marks of my height growing up and then in thick red permanent marker is John Taylor's height and then Superman's height (Christopher Reeve).
