After Sacrament meeting, Bishop told us to go home

This was a very interesting Sunday.  My wife is out of town, and I had three young grandchildren to care for in Sacrament Meeting.  They were all over the place, jumping on each other, etc

And then, A MIRACLE!

Someone pulled the fire alarm, and everybody filed out of the building.  The klaxon scared the baby and she was screaming.

It took awhile for them to find the key to the tripped alarm box and shut it down -- had to go to the Bishop in another ward to get the key.  But the system still would not shut down.  The bishop, the fire department, the Stake, and SLC could not figure out what codes were needed to turn it off.

Does "Chinese fire drill" ring a bell?

Anyway, Bishop told us to go home, read the scriptures and pray.

A couple of years ago, my town was filled all day with a mystery alarm. A friend and I went on a walk in the late afternoon. We happened to wander by the car wash to find cops and specialists scratching their heads over the blaring safe. Mystery solved.

Last year our cub scout pack did an arrow of light presentation with a jedi training theme, culminating with an on-stage light saber duel with Darth Vader and a couple of storm troopers in full (and very authentic looking) regalia (no one could ever accuse our cubmaster of thinking small!). They also had a fog machine running, for effect. You can guess what happened next . . .

When I left, the firemen were taking selfies with Lord Vader.

In our county, we get fined for a false fire alarm. Perhaps somebody should have started a small fire in the kitchen.

The only person who knew how to handle the fire alarm system was the former bishop, and, of course, he was on vacation.

I smell conspiracy. He just "happened" to be on vacation at this time?
