  1. Thank you Ms. Pam :) Now may I PLEASE have a button??? I love gum drops
  2. COLUM would be my home temple of Columbus Ohio :)
  3. I know, dear iggy :) I was talking about them mainly rolling down all the time on me. I tried some sticky stuff that helps hosiery stay in place and other items of clothing, but it irritates my skin, and I'm sure as rain not about to wear panty hose!! Haha. I'll figure something out when that time comes :)
  4. Glad to hear you are trying to stay positive. I really do understand how you feel, as I've been struggling with similar feelings in trying to be approved to go through to receive my endowment. It's especially frustrating when I've spoken with the bishop and he's shared one of his very rare honest moments and said that he knows without a doubt I am more than spiritually mature enough to make and handle those covenants, but the Stake President is still applying the brakes. I do finally have a meeting with him at his home soon, so hopefully that will yield fruitful results. Don't give up, even when it seems like that is the easiest way out at the time being. That glorious day will be sweeter beyond any earthly imagination. If you ever feel the need to vent, I'm always available :)
  5. I don't wear my.ons simply because I detest the way they feel, mostly in humid wether. That, and I am also a bigger gal, so I hate when they roll down. Not sure what I'll do when I finally go throu the temple and have to wear white hosiery! I do, however, don't mind to wet the little footlets that one can wear inside of ballet flats. Those are somewhat comfortable.
  6. I will have had my iPad for a couple weeks this next Monday, and I absolutely love it. I've downloaded thenchurch's app for scriptures, manuals, magazines, etc. and also the me they have for music. They are very easy to use,and I like how if iever get chosen to give a talk, the. I can put everything together in one documenting the church app and it will automatically link to my resources. Just my 2 cents. Like you, I also started to get a little tired of the heavy Sunday book load! :)
  7. Kelly, by using the New FamilySearch you'll be able to know which ancestors have had what specific ordinances completed already, what work is still left to be done, and be able to combine multiple records for the same person, which will prevent duplicates being done. It has been a total life saver for me!! Good luck on your journey! We are all here for help whenever you need it!
  8. Amber - I know some of the things you're going through right now, especially about the temple. For a while, I was very unsure of why I should even bother working towards going to the temple. Right before I started taking the discussions, someone sent me links to the temple ceremonies and said it was all a sham, even though I don't recall anything now of what I read. I didn't want anything to do with it if it was what I thought it was. However, I prayed about it. I now know that the Lord teaches in deep symbolism, parables, and the like. While I haven't yet been for my own Endowment and experienced the temple ceremonies myself, I do know that I will never be given anything I couldn't handle. Nor would it be a good idea for me for me to go before I understood certain things. While yes, I could just google the entire thing right now and know everything, those who have posted those things have "skewed" as one person stated what the true meaning of those ceremonies is not the true, pure, untarnished ceremony presented in the temple - they have gone and perverted it as Satan has led them further away. My advice: prayer and fasting. Heavenly Father will NEVER lead you astray from the truth. Also, read the scriptures. Every single answer about the temple, including everything from the ceremonies is in there.
  9. ruthyp - i just wanted to say first how proud i am of you for choosing to be baptized! i was in your choose a little shy of 2 years ago. i informally investigated the church off and on for about 8-10 months, then finally made a connection with a member who connected me to her mom and the missionaries, then about 5 weeks later i was baptized. a lot of your worries i had as well. the closer i got to the date (june 20, 2009), the more Satan tried to make me feel as if i wasn't really good enough to be baptized into the Lord's true church. bu then one evening as i was praying and voicing all of my concerns, i realized through the Holy Ghost that i just needed to trust Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and they would lift me up and guide me through anything and would never lead me astray. another wonderful thing about this church is that while the gospel is perfect, the people aren't! we're all striving towards being the best we can be and following the commandments, but everyone goes through periods when that is a little farther off their radar or they're not as concerned, etc. the best thing that you can do right now is to continue praying, not only to know that this is the right decision, but also for your family and friends that their hearts may be softened, and for your church family, and for yourself. Heavenly Father knows you and loves you dearly, and i can't imagine a Father more happier right now than one that is celebrating His daughter's love for the gospel and for making right decisions! He is truly rejoicing! please PM me if you have any questions or just want to vent about anything on your mind. congratulations!
  10. ROFLOL!!! i needed that laugh trust me, i'd be waiting outside of his house when he came home from the meeting or velcro myself to the door of his office so he'd be FORCED to tell me
  11. Thanks classylady :) I didn't hear anything tonight, but I suspect since I'll probably see my bishop at church tomorrow evening since I have rehearsal for the 10 virgins parable musical, I'll make myself visible
