  1. From what I understand, they are pretty much the same, but you would be better off asking your Stake President, that way you will get the best & most current answer.
  2. Everyone should become aware of the various groups & organizations that are working together to protect our environment, whether it be globally, nationally and/or locally. There is so much going on behind our backs that we don't know about because it is not being reported by the main media (TV, newspaper, radio, etc). It is shocking to learn just how extensive this really is, but one would not know this unless they investigate it themselves, so where to start is the biggest question? Luckily, there are more books & documentaries now available that show the extent of what is truly going on. Most of it is being perpetuated by the big mega agricultural companies that are more interested in profits than safety of the consumers. Anyone live near any of the CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations)? It is unbelievable how much & widespread these outfits are becoming. It has gotten so out of control that major contamination has moved into the sewers (bringing toxic poisons to treatment plants), into community waterways, pools, lakes, & into the neighborhoods. Those who live within the immediate vicinity are now suffering from major health issues & government agencies (local & federal) are not doing anything about it, not even enforcing the laws with these mega companies. There is a great article in the Nov issue of O magazine titled "This Is Not Farming". It covers the work of Lynn Henning in Michigan as she investigates & documents what has been going on. Please, please read it! Another excellent source to see and/or read (available as a movie & a book)is Food Inc. It is a very comprehensive documentary of what has been going on nationwide to our food source & how compromised it has become. Our rights to healthy, clean, unadulterated, unprocessed, live food is slowly, but consistently being taken away from us. This will continue unless we become more aware & become active in doing something about this. The pollution of the environment is directly affected by all of this. The CAFOs has highly contributed to a more toxic environment. For more information & interest in helping, please send me a message via this website or to my email: [email protected]

  4. DVR rules!!! Recording those special moments when not being able to be home. Oh yeah, I will be home, but going to record the sessions anyways!
  5. Oooooohhhh, what a great idea!! I like, I like! Thanks for sharing this!
  6. I will be watching the sessions comfortably planted in my cushy recliner with my lap-desk on my lap, pen & large pad of paper to jot down notes, feelings & moments of 'aha' during all four sessions. I can't wait...it is going to be an awesome experience!!
  7. That design is perfect for the Philadelphia area! Absolutely stunning!
  8. What I would recommend is to research this very extensively as things have changed so much in both Los Angeles & San Francisco. I live in San Diego (& I am very spoiled here! LOL!), but I had also lived in LA many years ago. LA is not what it used to be at all & I would never go back to that area ever. Now you mentioned Irvine, while that is the newer & upcoming area..it is becoming more expensive, significantly increasing in population & increasing in traffic problems. I would recommend working with a real estate agent who has been in that area for at least 15 yrs. They have the experience that would better guide you as opposed to an agent that has been there for only 5 yrs or less. Due to the major changes that have happened in that area, you really need a very experienced agent. Now with regards to Walnut Creek, if I had to pick between Irvine & Walnut Creek, I'd pick Walnut Creek! It is a very lovely area up there (I travel up there quite a bit), but again you would want an experienced person to help advise you. Walnut Creek is also an upcoming & expanding area, so expect some expensive properties around that area as well. If you have children, you will want to know about the schools & how they rate for both Irvine & Walnut Creek. Get a list going of all the pros & cons (from experienced & reliable sources) for both areas & then base your decision on those results. I wish you the best on this new adventure.
  9. The first question that I have is....why would a woman want to wear a men's garment? They're not even made for a woman's body, so they would be very uncomfortable, not to mention not fit properly under women's clothing.
  10. This is something that should never be forgotten. My Great-Aunt was the sole survivor out of her family. She was a very young girl when her family was forced into a concentration camp. She and her family lived in Vienna and were a high ranking Jewish family. When it came down to the Nazis...money, class, wealth, contributions to society, etc. didn't make a difference. If you were Jewish, you were an undesirable!! Tragic! I remember her wearing long sleeves to hide the tattoo on her inner arm, yet not one word of vengeance or anger came out of her mouth. In spite of what she witness & was subjected to, she loved everyone. She was one very brave soul! She died when I was very young & I was devastated at loosing her. Now, I know that I will be with her again & that brings me comfort.
  11. Oh my gosh, Pam...I just noticed your new avatar!! Yaaaaahhhhhhooooo.....go Chargers!!! The Boltz are back!! This will be an amazing season & I think they will have the greatest season of all!
  12. Oh Gwen - that is too, too funny!! Yep, that would make sense, huh?!
  13. Actually, that's not quite right...what they did in 2009 was to allow a Colorado resident to apply for a permit to install a roof rain collection system, but you must qualify & most of the time it will be denied. As I said, I have a coworker that lives there & they have not been able to get around the law & the requirements to be able to do so.
  14. I came across a very interesting thing about Colorado...you cannot own any rain collecting &/or storage systems whatsoever!! The state of Colorado lays claim on all rainwater rights & it is illegal for residents to collect & store rainwater! I have a coworker that lives there & they were remodeling their home. He had mentioned about the landscaping problems he was having. I told him to check into the rain collection systems & make use of all the rain they get. He told me they were illegal. I thought he was pulling my leg until I researched it myself & found that he was correct!! Most ridiculous thing I have ever come across!!
  15. John Galt is a fictional character in Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged (1957). Although he does not appear in person until the last third of the novel, he is the subject of its often-repeated question "Who is John Galt?" and of the quest to discover the answer.
