  1. From what I've read and heard at different prep parties, powdered milk is for baking or cooking and the instant milk is for drinking. The powdered milk at the cannery is not for drinking. That's why it's nasty. They may not tell you that but if you are looking for something that is drinkable buy the instant. I wanted to try it for myself and first I opened the Shelf Reliance Instant Milk and I couldn't tell the difference between it and my regular 2% milk. My daughter said the same thing. Even the 3yr old grandkids didn't question it. Then I opened Country Cream Instant Milk and I honestly can not tell the difference. It calls for 2/3 - 1cp of milk to 1qt of water. I use the 2/3 cup of powder and it was very good milk. No after tastes or anything other than drinking a glass of milk. I have a friend and she loves the Emergency Essentials instant milk. She said it's just as good as the Shelf Reliance instant milk. Knowing the difference uses for the dry powdered milk vs the instant milk really helped me. My mind is at ease now regarding milk. When I see that I'm running low on milk and don't want to go to the store, I mix up 2qts and put it in a clean empty milk jug and absolutely no one in my family knows the difference. We have lots of picky kids and that says it all. If you're concerned about the shelf life, all three of these milks show a 30yr shelf life. I highly recommend these three brands of instant milk: Shelf Reliance, Emergency Essentials, Country Cream. Just make sure you buy instant if you want something good to drink. JMHO
  2. The wheat and grain should be good shouldn't it?
  3. From what I understand, you use an oxygen absorber for all dry things except sugar. Sugar products will harden if you use an oxygen absorber. If I'm wrong please someone jump in and let me know. That's what I'm doing.
  4. In my journey I've been to several different protestant churches as well as Roman Catholic.
  5. Striving to be like God isn't my problem. It's becoming a god and being equal to Jesus Christ that is the problem. I believe we should all strive to be like Him.
  6. "As man is, God once was. As God is, man may become.'' "Here, then, is eternal life -- to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you,... To inherit the same power, the same glory and the same exaltation, until you arrive at the station of a God.... " (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 346, 347) Is it essential for me to believe this to be LDS?
  7. Wow, I didn't even notice that this was an old post. Hopefully he has worked it out in his heart with the Lord. I still say, God bless his wife.
  8. This topic justs makes me angry. Her sins were forgiven many years ago and it's completely gone. She's been a faithful wife and has raised your children and how dare you bring up all this crap from before. This is completely your problem and you have some repenting to do for the unforgiveness in your heart. You have some serious spiritual issues of your own to work on. May Heavenly Father bless your wife and may she never find out that you've held on to this all these years. Sorry if I come across harsh but I've tried to not reply to this topic but here I am pushing the post button...
  9. I would love to read the 5 page description of Heaven. What a blessing to have this journal handed down to you. I would love to read it if it's published somewhere.
  10. These are my favorite bags and I use alot of them. Vacuum Sealer Bags -11” x 16” – 100 Bags - 30-0102-W-WS I also use these alot. Vacuum Sealer Bags – 8” x 12” – 100 Bags - 30-0101-W-WS As far as which model, I would buy the model that Costco sells. It has a port and is a good machine and the price is good.
  11. I think the Food Saver and the Seal A Meal are both made by the same company. At least that's what a customer service rep told me when I called to order a jar sealer. I love my Food Saver, I use it all the time. I buy in bulk at Costco and then freeze in packs of two. They thaw out fast and I can take out just what I need. I also use the jar sealer all the time. It's awesome! My dehydrator goes almost constantly and I store the veggie/fruit in sealed jars. I couldn't do without it now. It's fun to have jars of munchies sealed in jars also. You never know when the craving my hit or someone drops by and you want fresh, crisp chips or doo dads. They last a long time. Costco sells large bags of chocolate chips and I store them in sealed jars also. It's so handy to have all these things on hand and know that they are fresh. I used to go to the store everyday for one thing or another and spent so much money. When you stop for one thing you find other things also. Now I only buy from the sale papers and buy in bulk whenever the prices are really good. My Food Saver gets used alot. It's money well spent. I would only buy one with the port for the jar sealer attachment. You can buy the tube and the attachment if they don't come with it but you must have the port on the machine to attach it.
  12. Do you have a standard or set of beliefs that are constant that are not subject to change that you can measure what the prophet or the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles teaches you? Or do you follow whatever they say? Do you use your conscience, the Bible, the Book of Mormon to measure what new teaching might come along? I've never heard of this happening but what if your prophet became impaired in his thinking and started requiring things that you are uncomfortable about. Just wondering and hope you don't think I'm crazy.
  13. The ones I'm wondering about are the same products that are the same company and the only difference is one is in a #10 can and the others are in mylar bags sealed in a bucket.
  14. I have #10 cans of freeze dried foods and they have a shelf life of 25yrs or longer. Just recently I ordered some freeze dried samples in mylar bags that are sealed in a bucket and they say the shelf life is 7 years. I don't understand that because I understood that sealing in a mylar bag was as effective as the cans. Can someone explain this to me. I've been trying to contact the Shelf Reliance person who can answer this question and the line is constantly busy.
