  1. The Bishops counselor should never be a part of this type of discussion. He is a counselor and does not hold the keys for such confidences. The Counselor should have known better, and you should never have confided in the Counselor, unless the Bishop had directed it. In my patriarchal blessing I was warned if I broke a confidence I was in danger of losing my exaltation. What was done here was dangerious to all involved.
  2. Gen 19:26 26 ΒΆ But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.To demonstrate the great strength which Jeremiah would have as the spokesman of the Lord, he was called "an iron pillar" (Jer. 1:18). This contrasts with Lot's wife, who became a "pillar of salt" (Gen. 19:26), a monument of God's judgment against the disobedient. Would these young people say sister______ did this and overcame it, so I can commit it also no problem.
  3. If you consider fasting a sacrifice or punishment you have missed the meaning. Fasting cleanses the body and prepares it for spiritual feast one seeks from the Holy Ghost. Their is no distraction from worldly functions for the term of the fast. We have been told not to fast more than 24 hrs. We know the spirit works best when working with in a prepared accetable physical body. The key is union of spirit flesh and bone.
  4. In Israel as in this day we have the Ten or basic commandments from God. If we adhere to those we have no need for any other law. We are slow to respond and fearful, so we make laws to help us keep the basic laws. A common example was when the Lord commanded us to keep the Sabbath day holy, Israel built walls around this commandment limiting and defining the law literally. So much so that the spirit of the law was lost and the Savior himself was accused of violating the law by healing a man on the Sabbath. Our walls are fear even though we are told by the Lord not to fear.
