  1. I've been investigating the church for about a year now and as of lately I feel really good about it. I feel like I'm about ready to become a member, but not yet. I know I will have drastic consequences in my home life if I do, so I want to be absolutely sure first. That being said, I'd like to apply to BYU, Provo and Hawaii. My goal would be to go to Hawaii and major in Biochemistry. I was just wondering if not being a member would hurt my chances of getting in? I've finished one year of college and my GPA is good (3.9) so I'd like to transfer there in January. Any advice on getting in and what I could do to help my chances?
  2. Thanks for all the responses! I've been trying not to get caught up on things like this because I really do feel like the Book of Mormon is true.
  3. Hi this is my first post on this website. I have been investigating the Church for over a year now. There are so many things that I like about the Church but I am the type of person who feels the need to thoroughly learn about everything before I can commit. One hangup that I am having right now is about Joseph Smith. I understand the concept of polygamy and how it had its place, but I'm confused on why Joseph Smith would take other mens (who were in good standing with the church, some even missionaries at the time) wives in marriage. Esther Dutcher, Patty Sessions, Marinda Hyde, and Zina Jacobs are a few examples. I appreciate the feedback!
