  1. I think one of the MOST important ways men can magnify their preisthood is my making sure they are humble, teachable and that they do not use dominance or thier priesthood as a prideful thing, meaning that they believe themselves superior to women, or other men without the preisthood. Also that they keep temple covenants.
  2. Im australian. I went to middle school in america however, and had to do an american history class. It is the only class i have ever failed in my life. I didnt even know the names of all the states, where they were, i didnt know the difference between the civil and revolutionary wars, i didnt know who wrote the constitution and had never heard of the bill of rights. Learnt alot, but now i'm back in australia its all pretty useless really. I bet if i gave you guys a test on asutralian history you would all fail miserably.
  3. what is wrong with playiong the piano? I think it has a purer sound. Can't you use either? What situations do you absolutlely HAVE to play the organ instead of the piano? In our chapels we have both, but most of the time we just have piano during our sacrament meetings. I hate really vibrating sound. I guess organs are good if it is a special occassion, or if it is the huge organ in the conference centre, where you have a large choir as well. Like i said, i prefer the piano.

  5. graham norton he is a talk show host in the UK. I watch him on cable sometimes. He is very funny, but occaissionally gets crude and i have to change channels...
  6. I'm pretty sure this is ok to talk about because they show it to people who are going through the temple open houses. I like how as you move through the temple, there are different levels and the lighting gets brighter. The highest and brightest room is the celestial room.
  7. I've only ever seen long sleve temple dresses. The neckline has to be high as well, and it has to be minimal embroidery, if any. A cotton dress sounds good. I wonder why they havent done any already? One time when kneeling doing sealings i almost passed out from the stifling heat!
  8. poor Yed, thats why i dont go to that other forum anymore... I have deleted it from my bookmarked sites, and only come here now. Its a much nicer environment.
  9. This is interesting to me... i sometimes get sick of my MIL asking my husband for blessings. Most of them say exactly the same thing. What comfort is there in redundancy? What difference is there between a blessing given yesterday and one given today? I'm not saying that the priesthood can be overused... but i dont think people should keep asking for blessings for these reasons 1) getting blessings until they get the answers that THEY want 2) The priesthood is sacred and we should spend a few days contemplating what each blessing means, not getting another one the next day I think there are other ways to receive comfort that you can do everyday. Praying, Reading scriptures, obviously, also fasting, paying tithing and fast offereings, going to the temple as much as possible, putting your name on the temple prayer roll. Re-reading your patriachal blessing, readin the ensign, or other uplifting books and magazines.
  10. 3 And because my words shall hiss forth—many of the Gentiles shall say: A Bible! A Bible! We have got a Bible, and there cannot be any more Bible. 4 But thus saith the Lord God: O fools, they shall have a Bible; and it shall proceed forth from the Jews, mine ancient covenant people. And what thank they the Jews for the Bible which they receive from them? Yea, what do the Gentiles mean? Do they remember the travails, and the labors, and the pains of the Jews, and their diligence unto me, in bringing forth salvation unto the Gentiles? 5 O ye Gentiles, have ye remembered the Jews, mine ancient covenant people? Nay; but ye have acursed them, and have hated them, and have not sought to recover them. But behold, I will return all these things upon your own heads; for I the Lord have not forgotten my people. 6 Thou fool, that shall say: A Bible, we have got a Bible, and we need no more Bible. Have ye obtained a Bible save it were by the Jews? 7 Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth? 8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two nations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also. 9 And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever. 10 Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written. 11 For I command aall men, both in the east and in the west, and in the north, and in the south, and in the islands of the sea, that they shall write the words which I speak unto them; for out of the books which shall be written I will judge the world, every man according to their works, according to that which is written. 12 For behold, I shall speak unto the Jews and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the Nephites and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of the earth and they shall write it. 13 And it shall come to pass that the Jews shall have the words of the Nephites, and the Nephites shall have the words of the Jews; and the Nephites and the Jews shall have the words of the lost tribes of Israel; and the lost tribes of Israel shall have the words of the Nephites and the Jews. 14 And it shall come to pass that my people, which are of the house of Israel, shall be gathered home unto the lands of their possessions; and my word also shall be gathered in one. And I will show unto them that fight against my word and against my people, who are of the house of Israel, that I am God, and that I covenanted with Abraham that I would remember his seed forever- 2 Nephi 29: 3-14
