Number75's Achievements

  1. I am nearing retirement and am looking for an opportunity to provide more service. I currently serve as an ordinance worker in one of the temples which I enjoy very much. I would like to spend more time serving in the temple. I know that our temple has several unpaid assistant recorders that are volunteers. I was thinking of discussing this possibility with one of the temple presidency. I'm wondering if this would be viewed similarly to letting them know you would like to be an ordinance worker OR would it be akin to telling the stake president that you would like to be the Bishop of your ward. Anyone have any knowledge or experience here?
  2. I always support the youth fundraisers in our ward. The Young Men and Young Women each have one. But I will not donate to the FOS. Somehow BSA thought it would be a good idea to let openly gay scouts in the program but not adults. When you send your scouts off to summer camp, guess who they go to for merit badges, it's not the adults. What could possibly go wrong with that?? When they put a question about donating to FOS on the temple recommend interview, I'll do it. But I don't see that happening.
  3. Just because someone receives a mission call doesn't mean they become perfect. While I don't agree with her handling of the situation she could be doing much worse. For example, I can assure you that some of this young woman's high school classmates have, within the past 24 hours, done drugs, passed out from alcohol use, hung out a bar, went to bed with someone with the risk of acquiring an STD or having a child out of wedlock. Overall, I think this young woman's is living a life the Savior would smile upon. If anyone is looking for a perfect missionary they will be sorely disappointed.
