Excalibur's Achievements

  1. I've always found Lectures on Faith very uplifting. There is a dearth of gospel commentary books out there; it just depends on what you're looking for. I've recently been enjoying a number of books by Robert Millet and John Bytheway. They have a knack for taking complicated topics and making them easily accessible to the lay reader.
  2. I miss Halloween... It's my favorite time of year and it passed by so fast.
  3. I'm a pretty big fan of the Horror genre, so I had signed up for the "Box of Dread." For twenty dollars, they'd send a box filled with horror collectibles. It was kind of neat, but most of the items were small trinkets and the collectibles I got were not things I would have chosen to buy had I known what I was getting. I cancelled after three months. 60 dollars in, I figured it's better to use that money on things I actually want. The novelty of being surprised only went so far.
  4. I guess it depends on how one defines successful. I've heard in the past that the LDS church is one of the wealthiest churches per capita, so we could be deemed more financially successful. I think we are also more visible and easily recognizable, maybe even more influential. It's easier to find someone who's heard of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon than it is to find someone who knows about Ellen White and The Great Controversy, in my experience. Then again, maybe she was just in error.
